Logo for OAHMS

After co-founding the Ottawa Asian Heritage Month Society in July 2004, Monica designed its logo. Later, she also designed the business card and name tags for the Society's Board of Directors.

PEI Chinese Canadian Association1987

Logo Design for the PEI Chinese Canadian Association in 1987. Chinese population comprised of fifty families. Influx of Vietnamese and university students propelled Monica and her husband to organize the first Chinese Canadian Association on the Island. The first President was the beloved Mr. Lam. The second President was Dr. Alek Choo followed by Ms. Monica Wu in 1989. At age 40, in 1993, Monica family took one year work transfer to Ottawa.

Organic form has always fascinates Monica. The flowing lines of this painting came while she was laying in bed.

This painting was painted in 1981, a gift to her in-laws in Malaysia. She brought it with her from PEI to Malaysia! It is now in her sister-in-laws home in Malaysia.

At age 67, Monica is learning to do Digital painting.

Using refrigerator boxes, Monica drew and cut out the shape of musical clef which would turn into a metal sculpture for her second winning float.

Chinese Canadian Association Booth

Creativity is most valuable as one has no budget. Using bristle boards, Monica created oriental patterns to hide ugly wooden sticks which hold up the booth. She brought artifacts from her home and borrowed some from her Chinese friends to showcase her winning Most Creative Booth!

Metal Sculpture for the PEI float

It was a heavy metal sculpture installed on the PEI Multicultural Council float which won Outstanding Achievement float at the most popular Gold Cup & Saucer Parade at the Eastern Canada.
