

Prior to the formation of the Ottawa Asian Heritage Month Society, Monica was the chief organizer of Asian Heritage Month celebrations.To be more inclusive, Monica, Sjarif and Alek decided to establish the Ottawa Asian Heritage Month Society to promote cross-cultural understandings in the National Capital Region.

Monica is the original Web designer for the Chinese Canadian National Council ( Ottawa Chapter) and the Ottawa Asian Heritage Month Society. She has also designed logos for the OAHMS and PEI Chinese Canadian Association.

Initiated her first volunteer project at age 18 in Montreal, Ms Monica Wu went on to organize a variety of community projects for Guelph, Charlottetown and Ottawa.​ Many thanks and deep gratitude to all who have provided assistance to her community projects.
